Dr. Patterson is a third-generation physician broadly trained in both medicine and business management. He brings the perspectives of a practicing physician-manager to his work with Arizona Diagnostic Pathology Associates.
Dr. Patterson received his M.D. from the University of Alberta in 1967 and holds board-
certification in Pathology in both Canada and the U.S. He received his M.B.A. from the
University of Calgary in 1987 and was among the first physicians to achieve board-certification in medical quality assurance in 1991.
Dr. Patterson has an extensive background and experience in medical quality improvement, lean six sigma and clinical information systems. He is an accomplished physician-leader and has served in many roles – including laboratory medical director,
chair of hospital-wide quality assurance and physician Lean champion.

Dr. Shah is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He received his medical degree and completed his residency in pathology and microbiology at Gujarat University, India. He was a resident physician in anatomic and clinical pathology at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, MI and completed his fellowship in genitourinary and surgical pathology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Shah is currently the President of the Genitourinary Pathology Society (GUPS) and ADPA is proud to recognize him as our Honorary Advisor.

Dr. Ghassan Tranesh, MD, MSc, FCAP is a board-certified surgical pathologist, cytopathologist, and dermatopathologist with extensive expertise in diagnostic pathology, medical education, and research. As a consultant pathologist for ADPA
& through his role as a surgical pathologist at Tucson Pathology Associates, Dr. Tranesh signs out a broad spectrum of surgical pathology cases, with a subspecialty focus on inflammatory and neoplastic dermatopathology, particularly melanocytic
proliferations. During his time as the Medical Director of Cytopathology & Assistant Professor of Pathology at University of Arizona College of Medicine, he fostered a culture of continuous learning and professional growth for his students and developed and implemented image-guided biopsy techniques, improving diagnostic accuracy and enhancing patient care outcomes. A published researcher and dedicated educator, Dr. Tranesh has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and contributed to major research initiatives in cancer diagnosis and

Dr. Manju E. Nath, M.D. is a board-certified pathologist specializing in anatomic, clinical, and cytopathology and is currently serving as one of the consultant pathologists at ADPA. He completed his medical education at J.J.M. Medical College, University of Mysore, India,
followed by residency and fellowship training in pathology and cytopathology at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Nath has held key leadership roles as Medical Director and Staff Pathologist across multiple hospitals, including serving as Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. A prolific researcher, Dr. Nath has published numerous articles, abstracts, and book chapters on breast and gynecologic pathology and has delivered lectures at
national and regional conferences. He is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, American Society of Cytology, and the International Academy of Pathology, and has held leadership roles in the Pittsburgh Pathology Society.
